Samsung Galaxy S6 edge Named Best in Show at #MWC2015

We were at the Samsung India’s launch of its much awaited flagship device the Galaxy S6 and its Edge version the Galaxy S6 Edge. We have complied a list of 6 things you should know about the devices:

1. Premium look and feelWith the Galaxy S6 Samsung has finally replaced the polycarbonate and faux pas leather form factor of its predecessor with a full metal-chassis. The S6 is thinner and smaller as against the S5. From a few angles it will remind you of the iPhone 6. The new S6 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protective covering on both sides this time. The home button on the new S6 comes with a new fingerprint sensor like the ones you see on the iPhone.
2. Bid Adieu Qualcomm
With the Galaxy S6, Samsung has ditched Snapdragon completely and will use its own Exynos 7420 CPU in the S6. The in-house octa-core Exynos 7 processor in the S6 is clocked at 2.1GHz and comes with 64-bit capabilities. It is coupled with Mali-T760 GPU along with 3GB of DDR4 RAM.

3. Better & Faster Camera
Not only has Samsung put a 16MP rear camera on-board the Galaxy S6, it also has optical image stabilization and auto HDR for better low light photography. And to make all the shutterbugs happy. The Galaxy S6 lets you luanch the camera in under a second by simply double clicking the home button.

4. Poof Bloatware
The new Galaxy S6 runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out-of-the-box with the company’s new and improved TouchWiz UI on top. The company has tried to cut down on TouchWiz on this one. Pre-loaded Samsung apps have been brought down to just two: S Voice and S Health.

5. Living in a Wireless world

The new S6 is backed by a non-removable Li-Ion 2550 mAh battery and supports wireless charging. According to Samsung, the S6 can achieve a full charge in half the time of the iPhone 6. The company claims mere 10 minutes of charge delivers enough power to keep the S6 running for 4 hours on moderate usage.

 6. You want to know the pricing, right?
No matter how the device is or what all feature it has, the pricing has to be right or else it leave the people high and dry. With the Galaxy S6 we had hoped for a price thats under 50k for S6 and under 60k for the Edge variant. And Samsung didn’t disappoint us this time, the S6 is priced at 49,900 and the S6 Edge at 58,000. Both the devices will come in 32GB, 64GB and 128 GB variants and will be available from 10th April as we predicted, with pre-orders starting today.
