Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra

At the ‘Unpacked’ event in San Fransico last night, Samsung announced its flagship smartphone lineup – the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra. Also, the Korean giant announced a couple of new products including a new foldable device – Galaxy Z Flip and a new wireless earbud – Galaxy Buds+. Depending on the region, the S20 series come in 5G variants with Snapdragon X55 / Exynos Modem 5123 modem.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 and S20+ come with a 120Hz refresh rate display with 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O panels respectively. Under the hood, they are powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC with Adreno 650 GPU/Exynos 990 with ARM Mali-G77MP11 GPU depending on the region. They come in several variants – the 4G variant comes with 8GB RAM and the 5G variant packs in 12GB RAM and offers 128/512GB storage. On the software front, the devices are running on Samsung’s One UI 2.0 on top of Android 10. To power all the internals, the S20 is packed with a 4000mAH battery and the S20+ is packed with a 4500mAH battery with 25W fast charging via Type-C and 25W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging support.

On to the camera front, the S20 comes with a triple rear camera setup while the S20+ comes with an additional Depth vision sensor. There is a 12MP primary wide-angle lens with f/1.8, OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide lens with f//2.2, 120-degree FoV, a 64MP telephoto camera with OIS, f/2.0. The rear camera comes with support for recording videos up to 8K, Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, 3X optical zoom, 30X hybrid zoom, AI motion analysis for better videos. Over at the front, there is a 10MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture, Dual Pixel AF, Live focus, and 4K recording.

The top of the line flagship smartphone, S20 Ultra comes with a big 6.9-inch 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O Display (3200 X 1440), HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with 12/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB storage and is backed by a massive 5000mAH battery with 25W wired and wireless charging support.

In the camera department, the S20 Ultra comes with a Quad-camera setup – a 12MP ultra-wide lens with f/2.0, 120-degree FoV, 108MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8, 79-degree FoV, PDAF, OIS, a 48MP telephoto lens with f/3.5, OIS, and a depth sensor. Over to the front, the S20 Ultra comes with a 40MP selfie camera with PDAF, f/2.2, 80-degree FoV.
