Swift 5, Spin 5 and Switch 7 Black Edition at IFA, Berlin

Acer has announced two new Notebook and a 2-in-1 at on going IFA 2017 in Berlin, Germany. Swift 5 and Switch are the latest Notebooks and Spin 5 is the latest 2-in-1 from the company. All the 3 devices are powered by Windows 10, 8th Gen Intel Core processors and the price starts at $799.

Acer Swift 5

Swift 5, Spin 5 and Switch 7 Black Edition at IFA, BerlinThis Notebook is powered by the latest 8th Generation Intel Core processor, it comes with a 14-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display with narrow bezels. It is designed for users who want prefer portability, solid performance, and a touch of style. Swift 5 weighs less than 1 kg and it is constructed with ultra-light magnesium-lithium alloys for the top and bottom cover, and magnesium-aluminum alloys for extra sturdiness on the palm rest area. It comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. Acer claims up to 8-hour battery life. Other features include 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi, backlit keyboard, Acer TrueHarmony with Dolby Audio, Skype for Business and Cortana integration.

Acer Spin 5

The latest 2-in-1 from Acer comes with 13-inch or 15-inch 1080p display. It is lightweight, portable, and enclosed in a head-turning metal casing. The device allows users to interchange seamlessly between laptop, tablet, display and tent modes. The 13-inch model of the Spin 5 weighs in at 1.5 kg and measures in at 15.9 mm thin, while its 15-inch sibling is a bit over 2 kg in weight and 17.9 mm thin. It is also powered by 8th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 16 GB of DDR4 memory, up to 13 hours of battery life, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics option for the 15-inch model. Swift 5, Spin 5 and Switch 7 Black Edition at IFA, BerlinIt also comes with an optional Acer Active Stylus to get better control of the screen during work and increased usability through Windows Ink. Other features include Acer TrueHarmony, Dolby Audio Premium technology, and two front-facing speakers, Skype for Business-certified, four array microphones combined with far-field voice-recognition technology that allows users to access Cortana from up to four meters away.

The premium among the other two new products, Acre Switch 7 Black Edition comes with a With a 13.5-inch IPS display with 2256 x 1504 resolution. It is powered by 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics. Acer Switch 7 Black Edition is the world’s first fanless 2-in-1 notebook equipped with discrete graphics, made possible by Acer’s Dual LiquidLoop fanless cooling technology. It is designed for the mobility minded, the new Switch 7 Black Edition weighs less than 1.15 kg with the keyboard detached. Price and Availability

  • The Acer Switch 7 Black Edition will be available in North America in December with prices starting at $1,699 and in EMEA in December starting at €1,999. 
  • The Acer Swift 5 will be available in North America in December starting at $999 and in EMEA in December starting at €1,099 and in China in November starting at ¥7,499.
  • The Acer Spin 5 will be available in North America in September with both the 13-inch and 15-inch models starting at $799 and in EMEA in September with the 13-inch model starting at €899 and the 15-inch model starting at €999.
