Samsung goes Tick Tock!

All the major smartphones of 2017 have launched with the trend of a bezel-less display, dual rear cameras set up and no headphone jack. Now, 2018 awaits us with some crazier tech innovations. All done and said, and we already have leaks of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Isn’t it too early to talk about it when the year still has not ended? How about we tell you that the next S series of Samsung phones, i.e. S9 and S9 Plus, will be showcased earlier than expected? It implies rather than the Mobile World Congress that takes place in late February, the phones will make their first public appearance at January’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Although, you will just get a glimpse of both the phones, the official launch event will be held in March, similarly like Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. This is according to the reports from the Tech veteran, Evan Blass, from Venture Beat, who has an accurate track record, in terms of tipping new features and release dates in the smartphone market.

It is rumoured, both the phones are going to be identical, in a Tick Tock fashion. (The term, “Tick Tock” derives from Apple’s concept of alternating between eloquent iPhone redesigns in one year and some components to upgrade in the next year.) Highly likely, Samsung is expected to follow in Apple’s footsteps.

According to Evan Blass’ reports, the phones are codenamed as – Star 1 and Star 2 and will be dubbed by the model numbers – SM-G960 and SM-G965.  Expected to be similar, the S9 and S9 Plus will feature the same 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch curved-edge Super AMOLED Infinity display, like their precursors.  Moreover, Qualcomm’s 10nm FinFet process will be fabricated in the latest chipset of Snapdragon 845, which the phones will be powered by for the US models and an Exynos 9810 SoC for the other countries, as the newly launched, Exynos 9810 SoC comprises of 10nm FinFET process.

This time around, besides a bigger screen, the S9 Plus will feature a 6GB RAM, as compared to a 4GB RAM, and a dual camera setup, similarly like the Galaxy Note 8. Both the flagships will offer 64GB of internal storage, expandable up to 256GB via micro SD card. Unsurprisingly, to our misfortunes, the headphone jack will be skipped. It is widely expected that the placement of fingerprint sensor to be shifted slightly and will be at the rear itself, in favour of ease to reach the sensor.

This is just the start and there is more to follow. To know more, follow us and leave a comment below and tell us, how excited are you for the next Samsung S series?
