Bumble is one of the leading social which was recently launched in India with a mission to give women an empowered and secure way to connect online. Bumble’s in-app features help its users in India, especially women, feel confident and secure while using the platform. Today, the company has highlighted the features that Indians love most.

The features span across the free app, which offers three different modes – Bumble Bizz, Bumble BFF, and Bumble Date for professional networking, friend-finding, and dating respectively. The features that are India centric includes:

  • Women make the first move

When men and women connect in Bumble Date or Bumble Bizz mode, only women can initiate the conversation. This feature also safeguards users from unwanted creepy messages or spammers.

  • Matches expire after 24 hours

Once connected, women have 24 hours to start the conversation, allowing them to move at their own pace

  • Photo verification

Fake profiles? Verify profile in the settings so that your matches know its real. A blue check mark shows that the profile has been verified!

  • Hide your first name

Users can hide their first name and use initial instead, Women on Bumble no longer have to face the unwanted requests or follows on other platforms from people whom they haven’t met. 

  • Hide your profile

A user can to hide their profile, scroll to the bottom of the profile, select “Block and Report” and choose “I don’t want them to see me.”

  • Block, report and unmatch

Don’t tolerate rude, unkind or inappropriate behavior. If you find it offensive, report it and our support team will block it. There’s a prompt and easy option at the bottom of their profile.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas helped bring Bumble to India as both partner and investor in the company, alongside Bumble Founder and CEO, Whitney Wolfe Herd. Bumble also has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, hate speech and misogyny on its platform and will ban users who don’t follow these guidelines. The Bumble app is available in both “Hinglish” and Hindi for iOS and Android. The app is free and available to download in the App Store and Google Play.
