ABBYY FineScanner AI

ABBYY FineScanner AI, a scanning and OCR app will be soon getting AI-enabled gallery sorting and offline text recognition for 63 languages. The new app feature is designed as an intelligent capture assistant that works seamlessly for automating paperwork on a mobile device.

FineScanner AI uses neural networks to instantly find images with text and photos of documents in the gallery and suggest them to the user. The new feature will be available on iOS and Android devices and work automatically when the user opens the gallery in the app. Once the right scan is located, the user can optimize it for viewing and printing (crop, correct the perspective, apply filters, eliminate noise, and boost contrast), recognize and edit the text, convert and share the document via email, messaging or cloud services.

The app will also receive offline text recognition for 63 languages. Android and iOS users will be able to recognize and edit the text in their scans without an Internet connection. Offline recognition will be perfect for travelers and those who work with sensitive documents, while online OCR preserves the original layout (tables, headers, images, and graphs) and allows to convert the image into 12 popular formats (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, etc.). This feature works with 193 languages online and 63 offline. By applying ABBYY Mobile Capture technologies and neural networks, the company aims to transform the experience of working with documents on a mobile device.
