MediaTek Helio G35 and G25

One of the world’s largest chipset maker company has announced the new gaming focussed G series of Chipsets including the Helio G25 and the G35. Both the chipsets use MediaTek’s HyperEngine Technology which aims at improving the overall gaming experience on a budget gaming smartphone in contrast to previous generation processors. Also, both the G25 and the G35 feature the IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPUs, clocked 650MHz and 680 MHz for the Helio G25 and Helio G35, respectively.

“Mobile gaming is now the preferred mode of entertainment across market segments, and MediaTek expanded its G-series to meet the huge demand for competitively priced, mainstream gaming smartphones,” said Dr Yenchi Lee, Deputy General Manager, Wireless Communications Business Unit, MediaTek. The Helio G25 and the Helio G35 are powered by an octa-core processor with Cortex-A53 CPUs. While the Helio G25 clocked at 2.0GHz, the MediaTek Helio G35 is clocked at 2.3GHz and both of these chipsets are manufactured using a 12nm FinFET production process.

The Helio G35 supports up to Full HD+ display with a maximum resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, whereas the other Helio G25 supports up to an HD+ display with a maximum resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels. When it comes to the cameras, the G25 can handle up to an 21-megapixel sensor at 30 FPS whereas the G35 can handle up to 25-megapixels with AI-enhanced camera features. Both phones can go for dual camera setup with a primary 13-megapixel sensor along with a 8-megapixel bokeh lens.

Both the chipsets have support for eMMC 5.1 storage options. Other features of the chipsets include Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), Rolling Shutter Compensation (RSC) engines, AI-camera enhancements, 4G LTE WorldMode modems, including essential dual 4G SIM support. Other than those, they come with MediaTek’s TAS 2.0 smart antenna technology, integrated Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 support.

Mediatek claims that these chipsets will be available in the market pretty soon, although the Realme C11 is the first phone to use the Mediatek Helio G35 Chipset whereas the Redmi 9A is the first phone to adopt the Helio G25 SoC.
