There was a recent data breach in Facebook, and that lead to over 533 million users’ personal data getting leaked globally. Reports also claimed that the data includes the personal details of 6 million Indian users and that makes it a very serious issue. Diving down the details that have been leaked with this data breach: includes phone numbers, Facebook ID, full name, location, past location, birth date, email address, account creation date, relationship status, and personal bio.

Troy Hunt who is a well-known online security specialist, runs a website known as Have I Been Pwned: Check if your email has been compromised in a data breach. With the help of his website, users can check whether their data has been leaked or not. Also, recently he has made a program that would help to see if phone numbers have been leaked or not in the Facebook breach. He also tweeted regarding the same:

With the help of this website, you need to follow the steps mentioned below to know if your data has been leaked or not:

  • Go to www.haveibeenpwned.com
  • Now, you need to fill in the email that you had used while signing up for sites.
  • Click on the ‘pwned’ button and now it would check if your data has been breached or not.
