Instagram starts testing Clubhouse-like audio rooms. With the launch of Clubhouse, all the major social media platforms started adding the feature. It was very similar to what was being offered by Clubhouse, now even Facebook also started working on Clubhouse-like audio rooms. It’s reportedly working on more than one such feature. Instagram was also spotted testing audio rooms back in March. More leaks of this feature show a glimpse of how it will work.

There have been a lot of leaks and rumours about this feature. But the new leaks have discovered that Instagram users will be able to start audio rooms and invite people to join them. Only people who are invited will be able to join the audio room. This seems a bit different from Clubhouse, as the rooms were free to join for anyone unless they are locked by the maker. Even Instagram is also letting users edit the name of the audio room.

Just like Reels and IGTV, we think once the development of these Audio rooms is done. We would soon get Audio rooms on Instagram too, which is going to be inbuilt to the app and that would allow more users to join and use this feature, instead of downloading a new app. The UI looks very similar to Clubhouse, there’s a microphone icon on top that will work to mute and unmute. It also has an option to add members to the audio room.
