YouTube apps get revamped

Google updated the YouTube app for Android and iOS, making it easier for fans to explore your channel on mobile. With more than 40% of views in the U.S. coming from mobile devices, these updates were designed to help fans watch more of your videos while on the go.

What’s new?

Watch while exploring: With the swipe of a finger, fans can keep watching your video while exploring the rest of your channel.
Play all: With the new “play all” button, fans can enjoy your playlists and watch for longer.
New design: The new look helps your beautiful videos and One Channel design stand out. It’s also easier for fans to queue up and enjoy your videos on the big screen using Chromecast.

Perfecting your playlists

Now that playlists are easier to watch on mobile, this is a great opportunity to run through some playlist best practices:
Make your playlist pop by picking an eye-catching thumbnail
Give your playlist more context by adding a short, snappy intro video
Help people find your playlist by adding a strong title, tags, and description
Add extra commentary on the videos by adding notes when editing your playlist
Get more exposure by embedding and sharing your playlists on other sites

Happy YouTube-ing!
