ASUS Zenfone 6

Asus has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone – Zenfone 6 at an event in Spain last night. The Zenfone 6 will serve as the successor to the Zenfone 5Z. The latest Asus Zenfone 6 comes with a first-of-a-kind Flip camera mechanism, notch-less display, massive 5000mAH battery, Gorilla glass protection both at the rear and front and up to 8GB RAM.

Asus Zenfone 6 comes with a notch-less 6.4-inch Full HD+(2340 *1080p) 19.5:9 display IPS HDR10 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, 92% screen to body ratio, and 600nits display. Under the hood, it is powered by a 7nm Octa-core Snapdragon 855 processor, Adreno 640 GPU. It comes in 6+64GB, 8+128GB, and 8+256GB variants with LPDDR4X RAM and USF 2.1 storage with up to 2TB microSD card support. The device is running on Android 9.0 Pie on top of near stock ASUS ZenUI 6 and is packed with a massive 5000mAH battery with Quick Charge 4.0 via Type-C port.

The camera on the Zenfone 6 is pretty unique, it comes with a flip mechanism. The camera will be at the rear by default and when a user switches to the selfie camera, the metal flip module with the custom motor flips over the display and takes photos/videos. There is a dual 48MP(f/1.79)+13MP( 125° ultrawide) flip camera with primary 48MP being Sony IMX586 sensor, 1/2.0” sensor size, 0.8 µm pixel size, 1.6 µm pixel size, Laser autofocus, Dual LED flash, Instant cameras switching, 4K UHD recording. The camera modes include Auto (with HDR+ Enhanced), Portrait, Panorama, Super Night(via OTA), Pro (RAW file support / up to 32 seconds long exposure), AI Scene Detection in 16 types, 8 filters.

The fingerprint scanner is located at the rear and the device also supports face unlock. Other features include 3.5mm Headphone jack, Customizable Smart Key, Stereo dynamic speakers, 5-magnet speaker with dual NXP TFA9874 smart amplifiers, DTS:X Ultra, FM radio, Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4GHz / 5GHz, 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth V 5.0 (EDR + A2DP), aptX  and  aptX HD, Wi-Fi direct, NFC, and GPS.
