Android 9 Pie

Google has released its latest Android distribution chart for the month of August 2018. Android 7.X Nougat is leading the chart with 30.8% of the devices. Android Nougat was announced two years ago and it is really surprising to see that most of the smartphones around the globe are still running on the outdated software. Also, there is no sign of the Android 9.0 Pie on the chart yet as it is running only on few smartphones(<0.1%) like Google Pixel/XL/2/2 XL, Essential Phone, OnePlus 6(Beta), Nokia 7 Plus and Vivo x21.

Further, the second position is taken by three-year-old, Android 6.0 Marshmallow with 22.7% share on the chart, the third position is taken by Android 5.X Lollipop which is present on 19.2% of the devices around the globe. The last year’s Oreo is at fourth with 14.6% share and the KitKat, Jelly Bean, ICS, Gingerbread is running on 8.6%, 3,5%, 0.3% and 0.3% respectively.
