Spotify now available on Amazon Echo Devices, Here’s How To Set it Up!

Spotify, one of the biggest music streaming platforms across the world has now rolled out its support for the Amazon Echo devices in India. This was a feature missing to date and complained by multiple users who purchased the Echo devices in India. But now Spotify has officially rolled this out for both its Free and Premium tier users.

Spotify now available on Amazon Echo Devices:

To set Spotify up, all you need to do is firstly open the Amazon Alexa app on your compatible device whether it be an Android, iPhone, iPad or a Tablet, click on the three-dotted menu icon on the top left corner of the screen and from the drop-down select “Settings”. Next, Under the settings, navigate and select the “Music” menu. Here one will find all the previously connected music streaming services. At the bottom, select “Add New Service” and select “Spotify”. Now head over and enter your Spotify account credentials to bring over all the liked songs, playlists, and more.

Here are a few quick actions you could perform, with Spotify now connected with your Amazon Echo devices:

  • “Alexa, play my Daily Mix 1 on Spotify”
  • “Alexa, play Bollywood Acoustic on Spotify”
  • “Alexa, play Chai & Classics on Spotify”
  • “Alexa, play my <name> playlist from Spotify”

With this done, one can also set Spotify as the default Music player, to do so, Head back over to the Music Menu under the Settings, and in the option for choosing the default music player, select “Spotify”. To date, Amazon offered streaming services such as Apple Music, Amazon Prime Music, Hungama Music, and TuneIn and JioSaavn, and Spotify now joins the party as well. The set of Amazon Echo devices that currently have the support for Spotify are listed as, the entire range of Amazon Echo smart speakers, smart displays, the Echo Dot, Echo Plus, and the Echo Show. Additionally, Amazon has also confirmed that Spotify for Alexa will also be available for the Amazon Fire TV range as well.
