There are 2 things I really do excessively – I travel a lot and I click a lot of pictures. But mostly these photos are just left lying in my smartphone. I mean who’s got the time to dig photographs in their phone gallery unless they are specifically looking for it. Being a professional photographer in the past, I always wanted to do so much with the photo’s I click through my smartphone. But eventually, all I end up doing is share a few of them on my social media channels and be happy when someone likes or comments on them.

But that’s only for a few photos out of the thousands I click on each trip. The rest just pile up on my phone till I forget about them or delete them. It’s been a while; I’ve been trying to figure out a way to put my talent to use. I know, I still have it in me but now I’m not at that level where I can host exhibitions and sell my photos. So what do I do with my work?

I tried to search and found out that there are a lot of platforms that pay for photos that we share on their network. Though most of these apps turned out to be junk, I was lucky to find one amazing platform called ClickASnap.

ClickASnap app

So what is this ClickASnap?

ClickASnap is a still image hosting platform with a difference. Built on top of an existing specialist knowledge of monetizing and efficiently hosting web content this sites purpose is to compensate users with real money (not likes) for their work. It’s the first site of it’s type in the world, so join up and add your content. After all, what do you have to lose?

You must be asking yourself, Is this for real?

I can assure you it is as I signed up myself with a disbelief but it turned out to be the best thing I did online. This is how it works:

At the end of each week the views are added up and the platforms revenue for that week is collated. Operating costs are removed and the remaining profit is split 50/50 between the platform and the content creators. The formula works like this: Storage cost of photo (the larger the photo the larger this is) + The transmission cost of the photo (again the large the photo the larger this is ) plus server time. This is then subtracted from the platforms overall advertising revenue which is then split 50/50 between ClickASnap and the content creator. It is very difficult to put a fixed figure per photo view as the variables involved are large. Whilst payouts may be comparatively low at the moment as the site grows and more revenue streams are built in payment per view will increase significantly.

How much did I get paid and how does the payment thing work?

I’ve earned about 25 quid’s as of now. So, when your payment reaches the payout threshold (currently set to $25) a notification will appear, click on that fill in the details and you will be paid in our next run. Payments are made via Skrill or Paypal and usually same day as the request is received.

So what are you waiting for? Go and sign up right away – http://www.clickasnap.com/membership/register
