While Microsoft has been making efforts to expand its cloud-based gaming platform named xCloud; the company is also now expressing its plans towards making the platform more accessible through lower-priced hardware. According to the latest reports, it could be a plug and play kind of device; pretty similar to Google’s Chromecast, but instead will allow users to play xCloud games on a TV without an actual Xbox.

These new rumors around the upcoming Chromecast like xCloud dongle; comes after an interview of Xbox’s chief Phil Spencer with a publication called Stratechery.

“I think you’re going to see lower-priced hardware as part of our ecosystem, when you think about streaming sticks and other things that somebody might want to just go plug into their TV and go play via xCloud,” he is quoted as saying. He also adds that “You could imagine us even having something that we just included in the Game Pass subscription, that gave you an ability to stream xCloud games to your TV and buying the controller”.
